Children's welfare teaching hospital, Baghdad: Haematology/Oncology ward

The Haematology/Oncology (Blood conditions/cancer e.g. leukaemia) ward in Baghdad is one that IR has had a long-standing relationship with. In 2007 a shipment of basic medical equipment (value approximately $20'000) was sent to the hospital. In April 2009, the annual Iraq Relief Gala dinner was dedicated to the ward. A presentation compiled by Dr Al-Jadiry (the ward's consultant) was shown on the night, and a total of $5000 was raised for the cause. This has since been used to buy essential life-saving chemotherapy medicines which were in very short supply at the ward.
