Rehabilitation of Iraqi children with Post-traumatic stress disorder

After the wars in Iraq, many Iraqi children were left suffering from various psychological stress reactions including Post-traumatic stress disorder. In this ambitious project, we are aiming to get social workers and psychologists in Iraq (from the Al-Ayn social welfare organisation) trained in Psychological recovery methods. In this way, they can then lead group-therapy sessions with the traumatised children, thus helping to rehabilitate them and reduce their feelings of stress and depression. We also hope that this trained cohort, will then be able to train other professionals in Iraq- thus increasing the number of people
